Clinitech's LabPatch is a wearable lab-on-a-chip able to sample and
analyse fluid from the body imperceptibly via an electronic plaster
that communicates wirelessly with a phone or medical monitor.
Continuous glucose and lactate readings are already possible, and the
technology now extends to the detection of individual proteins and
viral particles in real time. Before long, the LabPatch will
painlessly enable the following:

- a wearer continuously to monitor a variety of wellbeing biomarkers
and other indicators

 - acting as a sentinel to alert the wearer to a specific infection,
potentially before symptoms occur

- monitoring medication compliance (including during clinical trials).

Invent is the Technology Transfer Office of Dublin City University (DCU), Ireland's University of Enterprise.  We have a number of technologies and research projects in the area of smart sensors and analytics for health and sport.  The Irish Government also provides generous grant funding to support collaborative R&D projects between international companies and Irish universities.
